Lawmakers in the European Parliament voice worries over the slow advancement in combating racism and xenophobia.
On Sunday, 19th October, an exciting event titled "Lokal Decolonial" is set to take place at Kulturbar froelich & herrlich in the West wing of Leipzig. This event is a collaboration between the website, Mosaik Deutschland e.V. Heidelberg, the city of Leipzig's Referat Internationale Zusammenarbeit, and the Federal Agency for Civic Education.
The event, scheduled from 19:30 to 22:30, promises a diverse and captivating programme. The languages for the evening will include English, German, Tatar, and Russian. Registration is required, and more information about this will be available soon.
One of the highlights of the evening will be the performance by the electro-poetic duo, TATAR KYZ:LAR, from Berlin. Their debut album, "AŞ", is a musical archive of memories, featuring translingual songs in Tatar, English, German, Belarusian, and Russian.
Another notable performer will be Natalia Zaitseva, a long-time member of the feminist theater scene in Moscow.
Dinara Rasuleva, a poet from Tatarstan, will be reading from her project "Lostlingual", published by Rab-Rab Press in 2025. There will also be whisper translation into German during the event to ensure inclusivity for all attendees.
The event is part of the Lokal Decolonial series in Leipzig and Heidelberg. The venue, Kulturbar froelich & herrlich, is wheelchair accessible, making it a welcoming space for everyone.
