A House Rep Gets Salty: Amobi Godwin Ogah Calls Out Nkeiruka Onyejeocha for Using Forged Docs

Lawmakers and a Minister under Tinubu's administration engage in heated dispute over alleged forgery of election results.

In a gutsy move, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, the one and only man representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State in the House of Representatives, isn't holding back anymore. He's taken the fight straight to Minister Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, accusing her of playing dirty during the 2023 Election Petition Tribunal.

According to our trusted sources, Hon. Ogah believes Minister Onyejeocha pulled off a sly trick by submitting 63 polling unit results that weren't legit. These phony results were stamped with INEC's seal but were mysteriously missing from INEC's state and national records.

The explosive petition, dated April 14, 2024, found its way to INEC headquarters in Abuja on April 29, 2025. In it, Hon. Ogah lays out his concerns, claiming the fabricated results were nowhere to be found in INEC's official records. Ouch, that's a big allegation!

Why's Hon. Ogah so heated? Well, aside from being the Chairman of the House Committee on AIDs, Tuberculosis and Malaria, he's apparently pretty proud of his win in the 2023 National Assembly election. INEC had deemed him the rightful winner with 11,822 votes, leaving Minister Onyejeocha behind with 8,752 votes.

"Fake News," Says Minister

But, Minister Onyejeocha ain't backing down. Through her media aid, she fired back, calling Hon. Ogah's allegations a pile of bunk. She thinks Hon. Ogah is just trying to divert attention from his own legal woes.

According to her, Hon. Ogah has a pending defamation case related to comments he allegedly hurled at a judge during the tribunal proceedings. Tomorrow's court date can't come fast enough for Minister Onyejeocha, it seems.

"The allegations in the petition are pure rubbish. They were dismissed long ago. Ogah has a defamation case coming up tomorrow; he accused a judge of taking bribes from me," her aide said, adding, "He's just trying to create a media uproar to distract attention from his own legal troubles."

Tribunal and Appeal Court Shut Down Onyejeocha's Petition

Remember when Minister Onyejeocha challenged Ogah's win at the election tribunal in Umuahia and later at the Court of Appeal? Well, she didn't have any luck there. Both times, her petition was shot down.

Hon. Ogah, however, promises to throw every bit of evidence he's got into the mix. He plans to submit certified copies of both the original and questionable results, along with relevant rulings from past cases, to support INEC's investigation.

"I'm doing this to contribute to the ongoing efforts at cleaning up our electoral system," Hon. Ogah stated, clearly not afraid to take on the challenge.

Apparently, Hon. Ogah waited to file his petition so he could gather enough evidence to support a thorough investigation and possible prosecution. He believes the forged documents were used during Minister Onyejeocha's case at the tribunal. Interesting, huh? As of now, INEC has already given Hon. Ogah a Certificate of Return and certified the original results from the polling units, wards, LGAs, and the iREV portal.

So, what now?

Well, only time will tell if Hon. Ogah's claim will lead to something big. For now, the mystery of the missing polling unit results remains. Stay tuned for updates!
