Law Enforcement's Return: Season 25's Release Details, Main Cast, Plot, and Streaming Platforms
The much-anticipated 25th season of Law & Order is set to premiere on NBC on September 25, 2025, at 8 PM ET. However, fans may notice a few changes in the lineup, as Mehcad Brooks, who played Detective Jalen Shaw, will not return for this season, and his replacement has yet to be announced.
In the absence of Detective Shaw, the new season will focus on a blend of episodic storytelling and ongoing character arcs. Regular cast members will appear in fewer episodes due to cost-cutting procedures, but rest assured, the core of the series remains intact.
Maura Tierney will reprise her role as Lieutenant Jessica Brady, and she will be joined by Reid Scott, who plays Detective Vincent Riley, and Tony Goldwyn as the District Attorney. ADA Samantha Maroun (Odelya Halevi) and Executive ADA Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy) will also be main characters in Season 25.
ADA Maroun's storyline from her sister's case will continue in this season, raising questions about how it may change the dynamic in the district attorney's office. The biggest questions for fans, however, remain who will replace Detective Shaw and whether Maroun's storyline will significantly alter the course of the series.
For those who can't catch the live broadcast, episodes of Law & Order will stream on Peacock the morning after they air on NBC. Fans of Law & Order: SVU can catch Season 27 at 9 PM ET on NBC, followed by re-runs of Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 at 10 PM ET.
If you're new to the Law & Order universe or want to catch up before the new season, Seasons 1-20 are available on Hulu, while Seasons 13-20 and 24 stream on Peacock. Seasons 21-23 can be purchased on Apple TV or Prime Video.
Get ready to join the NYPD and the district attorney's office once again as they navigate the complexities of the justice system. Tune in to NBC on September 25, 2025, for the premiere of Law & Order Season 25.
