Hey there! Got some buzz in Ottawa, eh?
On Tuesday afternoon, it went down, just off Sparks Street, where Ottawa PD had to pull the trigger on an armed individual near Parliament Hill and the Rideau Centre.
You guessed it, they got word about a dude with a gun around lunchtime by the Sparks Street area. The boys in blue moved in, and before you know it, they spotted the suspect near the Rideau Centre. Guess they had words and, well, one of the officers had to pull the trigger.
The guy was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but the good news is he's now reported stable. Nary a scratch on any of the officers involved, and no risk to public safety. The Ontario Special Investigations Unit has jumped on the case now.
surveillance footage showing lockdowns in and around the shopping centre and speeding vehicles from Parliamentary Protective Service racing to Parliament Hill, sirens blasting.
Ain't nobody had a clue it was gonna go down until the boys in blue started swarming the area. Doors were locked up tight, but inside, things were run-of-the-mill.
Backup from Ottawa PD cordoned off an entrance to the shopping centre, but inside the bustle continued as normal.
