Law Enforcement Official Views Positively on Applying German Law to Far-Right Enclaves: As stated by Police President Gregor Lange, the tactical search conducted in Dortmund-Dorstfeld is endorsed.

In a significant development, the Higher Administrative Court of Münster has legally confirmed several comprehensive police conditions for assemblies in Dortmund, dating back to 2015 and 2021. This ruling comes following a strategic surveillance operation ordered by Police President Gregor Lange, which ended in November.

The operation, aimed at gaining insights into the right-wing scene in Dortmund-Dorstfeld, has been instrumental in dismantling the local right-wing extremist network. Key figures such as Niklas Busch and Raik Helm, who was involved in violent acts and legal proceedings, have left the city. Helm, in particular, departed following his involvement in these incidents.

The strategic surveillance tool, employed by the Dortmund police, has proven to be a successful long-term strategy in combating right-wing extremism in the city. However, there are no plans to extend the operation at present. The police will continue to closely monitor the area of Dorstfeld, ready to utilise the strategic surveillance tool again should the need arise.

The mobilisation for assemblies in Dortmund this year was significantly lower than ever before, with the number of participants not exceeding double-digit figures. Slogans such as 'Dortmund-Dorstfeld Nazi-Kiez', 'National free zone' and 'Germany for the Germans - Foreigners out!' were used at these assemblies, creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.

Police President Gregor Lange welcomed the rulings of the Higher Administrative Court, stating that they confirm the course to resolutely use all available rule-of-law means to combat right-wing extremism. Lange also emphasised the police's commitment to continuing this path in the future.
