Drug Bust in Lanao del Sur: 29-Year-Old Suspect Arrested for Peddling Shabu
In a significant blow to the local drug trade, authorities nabbed a 29-year-old drug peddler and snatched Sh170,000 worth of illegal substances in a late-night sting operation in Purong village, Pualas, Lanao del Sur on April 22, 2025. The arrest was part of a relentless crackdown on the area's drug menace.
The recalcitrant suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was nabbed during a buy-bust operation around 11:30 p.m. The shady character was distributing narcotics within the community and was a known entity to the police.
Lanao del Sur police director, Police Colonel Robert Daculan, revealed that the suspect had 24.61 grams of suspected shabu in 27 heat-sealed plastic sachets, buy-bust money, and a coin purse in his possession. These items were seized as evidence during the operation.
An adept team consisting of the Provincial Special Operations Group, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, 1402nd and 1403rd Regional Mobile Force Companies, intelligence personnel, and Pualas policemen collaborated to execute the operation.
Post-arrest, the suspect and the seized evidence were transported to the Lanao del Sur Provincial Police headquarters for documentation and filing of charges. Daculan wholeheartedly applauded the dedication and unwavering vigilance exhibited by the operational teams in their ceaseless fight against illegal drugs.
