Law enforcement in Rhine-Kreis Neuss conduct targeted traffic inspections on "Car Friday"
Rhein-Kreis Neuss Police Crack Down on Illegal Vehicle Modifications
On Good Friday 2025, the Rhein-Kreis Neuss Police conducted a series of traffic checks focusing on technical modifications and illegal street races. The operation, aimed at ensuring safety on the roads, saw a total of 113 vehicles and 123 people checked across various locations throughout the district, with a focus on Neuss and Jüchen.
During the operation, a total of 76 traffic violations were detected. These included 24 cases of speeding, as well as other offences such as driving under the influence of drugs and driving without mandatory insurance. Seven technically modified vehicles were thoroughly inspected by specially trained officers, with improperly performed modifications posing a danger.
The police remind that tuned vehicles are regularly checked, and intervention will always be taken to ensure compliance with the law. For those who have made changes to their vehicles, it is important to have all changes entered in your vehicle documents in an orderly manner, or obtain approval if necessary. All illegal technical modifications must be rebuilt to the original condition.
For those found guilty of violating these regulations, fines and potentially additional costs related to rectifying the modifications can be expected. In addition to fines, traffic offenders can expect costs for the report and towing fees.
The Rhein-Kreis Neuss Police will continue to carry out controls of this kind at regular intervals throughout the district. For more information, press inquiries can be directed to the district administrator of Rhein-Kreis Neuss, or the press office at [email protected]. The exact modifications to the vehicles will be determined by a court-admissible report.
The police emphasize the importance of safe tuning, stating "Safe tuning doesn't brake the fun!" They encourage drivers to modify their vehicles in accordance with the rules on other days of the year to ensure the safety of all road users.
