Law enforcement in Northern Mindanao prepares 3,400 officers for ensuring public safety during scheduled demonstrations.

In the heart of Northern Mindanao, a significant event is set to unfold on September 21, 2025, as the Promotion of Church People's Response - Northern Mindanao Region (PCPR-NMR) is set to hold their "Black Friday Protest" against corruption.

The PCPR-NMR's journey began at Magsaysay Park in Plaza Divisoria, where they gathered to voice their concerns. The protest then made its way through the city, culminating at Press Freedom Park near the Capitol Grounds. The demonstration ended with a candle lighting ceremony and a short program, marking the end of a peaceful protest.

To ensure the safety and peaceful conduct of these demonstrations, the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) has deployed 3,400 personnel. Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon, the PRO-10 Director, assured that the police officers will exercise maximum tolerance, strictly follow the Police Operational Procedures, and observe human rights during the demonstrations.

The police personnel are well-prepared for these protest actions, according to Brig. Gen. Suguilon. The PRO-10 also emphasised their commitment to respecting the right of civil groups to hold rallies, especially on Sept. 21, 2025.

The PCPR-NMR's "Black Friday Protest" started at major landmarks in Cagayan de Oro City, attracting a significant number of participants. The protest was a call for transparency, accountability, and an end to corruption.

As the region gears up for this significant event, the people of Northern Mindanao can rest assured that their safety and rights are being prioritised by the authorities. The PRO-10's deployment aims to maintain peace and order, ensuring a peaceful conduct of the demonstrations.

With the peaceful demonstrations and the assurance of the PRO-10, the people of Northern Mindanao can look forward to a peaceful and productive future. The future Director of the PRO-10, Police Chief Superintendent Juvymax Uy, will undoubtedly continue to uphold these values in the years to come.
