Law enforcement examining incident involving hurt pop star Peck
In the early hours of Sunday, August 3, 2025, a shocking incident took place at a petrol station in Bangkok's Bang Kapi district. The victim was none other than popular Thai singer Peck Palitchoke, who was left with a deep knife wound to his throat.
According to reports, the 40-year-old singer ran onto the road and jumped onto the bonnet of a moving pickup. The driver, feeling threatened, responded using a knife, as stated by the driver. Peck allegedly threatened the driver, according to police.
The attacker, identified as Chutithep, aged 21, has been apprehended by police. Chutithep claims he acted in self-defense, alleging Peck punched him first during a commotion at the petrol station. However, eyewitnesses state that the attack was unprovoked, and Chutithep had no prior personal relationship or conflict with Peck.
Police have confiscated the knife and charged Chutithep with causing injury to another person and carrying a weapon in public. The pickup's driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was waiting for the police when they arrived, as his girlfriend had called them.
Peck is currently under medical care in a hospital and has not yet been questioned by police. Doctors have been asked to perform a thorough blood test on Peck. His record label, GMM Grammy, issued a statement saying he was in a safe condition with doctors in attendance.
The case is not complicated, but police still need more information from the pickup's driver, according to Hua Mak police chief Pol Col Naren Kruengsanuk. Police investigators are still waiting to question Peck.
Peck Palitchoke is reported to be in stable condition following emergency treatment and hospitalization for the stab wound. The incident has left the Thai music industry and fans in shock, with many expressing their concerns and support for the beloved artist.
