High-Speed Chase Incident on the A81: Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters Offers Support and Information
A high-speed chase incident occurred on the A81 near Renningen, Baden-Württemberg, on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters is currently involved in the investigation of this incident.
At around 1:30 AM, a civilian patrol from Leonberg Police Station noticed a VW Touran and initiated a traffic control. However, the driver, whose identity remains unknown, refused to stop and sped off.
The driver ignored a red light on the South Ring Road before rejoining the A8 towards Heilbronn. Despite oncoming traffic, the VW overtook another road user in this area. The chase continued as the driver exited the A8 at Leonberg-Ost and turned onto the South Ring Road.
In the construction zone of the Engelberg tunnel on the A81, the VW was driving at over 200 km/h towards Heilbronn. At the exit Stuttgart-Feuerbach, the VW left the highway again, turning onto the federal highway B295 towards Korntal-Münchingen.
