Law enforcement authorities are cracking down on criminal activities linked to clans
On Friday evening, a joint operation was carried out by the police, customs, the tax office, and the city of Solingen's public order service in the city centre. The aim of the inspections was to uncover hidden structures related to organized crime and strengthen the sense of security among Solingen residents.
During the inspections, several violations were detected across various businesses, including kiosks, shisha bars, and barber shops. As a result, two business premises were closed and sealed off due to violations of hygiene regulations. Seven criminal charges were filed, including withholding wages, suspected illegal residence, and tax offenses involving tobacco tax. An ID was seized due to a violation of the Residence Act, and a vehicle was seized due to a tax offense. However, no further details about the specific businesses involved, the nature of the violations, or the crimes suspected have been provided.
Twenty-three administrative offense reports were filed, including minimum wage violations, youth protection, and violations of trade regulations. The cooperation partners plan to conduct similar checks in the future to combat organized crime.
Despite these developments, there have been significant updates regarding a knife attack in Solingen, Germany. In August 2025, a knife attack resulted in three deaths and eight injuries. Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it was carried out by a "soldier of the Islamic State" to avenge Muslims in Palestine and elsewhere. A 26-year-old Syrian suspect, who had been slated for deportation but evaded law enforcement, turned himself in after a day on the run and confessed to the attack.
In addition, a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of knowing about the planned attack and failing to inform authorities, though he was not the attacker. Another 15-year-old was arrested in western Germany on suspicion of plotting an anti-Semitic attack after being in contact with a suspected foreign extremist.
No recent updates have been provided regarding organized crime investigations or charges filed against businesses in Solingen.
