Updated Article:

A 17-year-old suspect, allegedly named Joshua V. Walker, has been taken into custody for a non-life-threatening shooting incident that occurred on April 30 in Streator. Eschewing a formal investigation, local officers arrived on the scene at the 1100 block of Arthur Street at around 5:45 PM, discovering a 16-year-old victim struck by a gunshot to the abdomen.

The injured teen was initially treated at OSF Streator before being transported to OSF Peoria. Thankfully, the injury is considered non-life-threatening. Following interviews at the scene post-incident, Streator officers zeroed in on Walker as a person of interest. He was subsequently charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, a Class-X felony.

Post-arrest, Walker was taken to the La Salle County Detention Home, signifying the investigation into the shooting continues. With additional cases, like Tyler D. Skerett, wanted for an April 21 (Easter Sunday) fatal shooting, and Rodolfo Cervantez Madrigal, convicted for a 2021 murder unrelated to recent incidents, it appears that Streator has seen a series of disturbing incidents.
