In regional news from our Chemnitz studio, the police have been actively investigating the violent clashes that occurred during the B-junior match between Erzgebirge Aue and FSV Zwickau on June 7. The match was abandoned after just 12 minutes due to the disturbances.

On September 19, over 250 police officers were involved in a series of apartment searches across several towns, including Aue-Bad Schlema, Zschorlau, Stollberg, and Limbach-Oberfrohna. The searches were conducted on suspects believed to be involved in the violent incidents.

During these searches, the police seized mobile phones, clothing, pyrotechnics, spray cans, and stencils, all of which could potentially be used as evidence in the ongoing investigation. No arrests were made, but the police are currently investigating 45 suspects aged between 16 and 43 for disturbing the peace.

The B-junior match was awarded to Zwickau, and Erzgebirge Aue was fined 2,000 euros. The police have been reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses and other fans to trace the suspected attackers.

Further reports suggest that more than 250 aggressive and masked individuals had entered the stadium in Grünheide-Beierfeld and assaulted seven FSV Zwickau supporters aged between 15 and 21 with punches and kicks, causing minor injuries.
