Law Enforcement Actions During Multiple Public Protests
In the heart of Stuttgart on March 22, 2025, multiple demonstration marches took place, as reported by local media. However, detailed publicly available records regarding significant protests with major incidents, specific outcomes, or official investigations related directly to Stuttgart on that exact date are scarce.
The day began with a registered march starting on Willy-Bleicher-Straße, heading towards Theodor-Heuss-Straße and back to Stadtgarten via Büchsenstraße. A rally titled "Together for Germany" was held in Stadtgarden, attracting approximately 1500 participants.
Counter-rallies titled "Against the Right" were held in Keplerstraße, Marstallstraße, and Börsenplatz, with around 2500 participants at their peak. Counter-protesters attempted to stop the march with blockades in the area of Rotebühlplatz, causing the march to be rerouted.
The rally leader of the "Together for Germany" demonstration ended the gathering prematurely around 4:10 PM. Throughout the afternoon, police deployed drones for surveillance and intervened consistently when provocations from both sides threatened to escalate into major clashes between rival participants.
Barrier lines were set up to prevent a meeting of the two groups, and several provisional arrests were made due to typical offenses, including facial covering violations, bodily harm, assaults, and resistance against police officers.
In the area of the Liederhalle, police used pepper spray and batons to prevent a potential clash between right-wing participants and those trying to disrupt their march.
Timo Brenner, spokesman for the Stuttgart Police Headquarters, considered the outcome of the rallies positive due to the prevention of major clashes between rival participants and the successful completion of the march.
