Launches Small-Scale Vinyl Production: New U.S. Start-up Tiny Vinyl

Tiny Vinyl Introduces Compact, Eco-Friendly Four-inch Singles

In a move that could shake up the music industry, a US-based start-up called Tiny Vinyl has launched a new line of four-inch vinyl singles. These compact records, playing at 33 RPM, are expected to be a game-changer, offering a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional vinyl formats.

The new line-up includes artists from some of the biggest record labels, such as Universal Music Group, Sony Music, and Warner Music Group. From Universal, initial artists available include Gracie Abrams, Katseye, Doechii, the Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Lola Young, and Keith Urban. Sony-affiliated artists, such as Britney Spears, Tate McRae, and Doja Cat, are also part of the new series. Warner Music's WEA imprint artists, including Bruno Mars, Teddy Swims, and Black Sabbath, have also joined the roster.

Sony-affiliated artists, including Britney Spears and Doja Cat, are among those releasing four-inch singles through Tiny Vinyl. The artists included in the new series also feature Gracie Adams, Doechii, the Rolling Stones, Motley Crue, and Lola Young.

These four-inch records hold one song per side, with each side accommodating up to four minutes of music. They are priced at $14.99 each and are available for purchase on Target's website. Target is also promoting the new singles on their platform.

While the price of Tiny Vinyl's four-inch singles has been noted as high compared to the standard music market, it's important to consider the reduced material usage. Each single uses only 15g of material, compared to 140g for a 12-inch album, making them a more sustainable choice.

The availability and pricing of the singles in the UK have not been specified yet. However, it is presumed that the price in the UK would be similar to the price in the US. More details about the UK market are expected to be released soon.

In an era where tracks on Spotify rarely exceed three minutes thirty, these compact singles seem to cater to the modern listening habits. With their unique combination of eco-friendliness, compact size, and star-studded line-up, Tiny Vinyl's four-inch singles are set to make a significant impact in the music industry.
