Launch Your Weekend with Michael Che's Humorous Retort to His Critics Following His 2025 Emmy Victory

Saturday Night Live (SNL) is back for its 51st season, streaming exclusively on Peacock TV. The iconic comedy sketch show is set to return on October 4, with Bad Bunny hosting and Doja Cat as the musical guest.

The long-running duo of Colin Jost and Michael Che will continue as Weekend Update anchors for the new season. Jost will also be part of the cast, while Che is also a part of the producing and writing team.

Michael Che, a longtime Weekend Update anchor, made headlines after the Emmys when he finally won an award, taking home two statuettes for SNL50. He was nominated 11 times prior to this win. Alongside Che, Mikey Day and Colin Jost also won multiple Emmys for SNL50 at the Creative Arts Emmys.

The 50th anniversary special of SNL, SNL50: The Anniversary Special, won Outstanding Variety Special (Live) at the 2025 Emmys. The special episode featured guest appearances from Amy Poehler, who will host the actual 50th anniversary episode of the show, and Role Model as the musical guest.

As for the season premiere, it remains to be seen if Michael Che will bring up his Emmy wins. Fans can expect a humorous response from Che, who had a witty comeback for the haters after the win.

Peacock TV offers a variety of subscription plans, with Peacock Premium and Peacock Premium Plus offering ad-free streams and the option to download titles for offline viewing. A monthly subscription costs as little as $7.99, while an annual subscription is $79.99.

The new season promises to be as exciting as ever, with more star-studded episodes lined up. On October 18, Sabrina Carpenter will make her debut as both host and musical guest. Stay tuned for more updates on SNL Season 51!
