WNBA Players Shine on and Off the Court in Fashionable Week 10

The 2023 WNBA season has been a spectacle of athletic prowess, but off the court, players have been making their mark in the fashion world as well. During week 10, the WNBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis saw several standout fashion moments that showcased the league's players as influential style icons.

Harrison, of the New York Liberty, paired her Telfar Ombre Infinity Halter Tank, a piece showcased at Telfar's 20th anniversary show, with the signature half-sweatpant, half-jean logo Telfar pants and the iconic black circle bag. Skylar Diggins of the Seattle Storm opted for a Tibi plaid button-down dress, burgundy pointed heels, a thick, low-slung black leather belt, and the Hally Petite Cloud Bag in Polished Soft Calf Black from Anonymous Copenhagen.

Meanwhile, Kate Martin of the Golden State Valkyries donned a Polo Ralph Lauren men's jacket, paired with a crisp white button-down and a tie. Zia Cooke of the Seattle Storm wore a navy Adidas x Y-3 tracksuit and an Adidas Large Bowling Bag, while Cameron Brink of the LA Sparks returned to the WNBA after a year due to injury, sporting a cropped blue button-down shirt, a Revolve Ceren Ocak balloon denim skirt, white kitten heels, and a Chanel flap tweed bag.

The off-court fashion showcase extended beyond individual players, as multiple stars gathered for an All-Star Weekend opening party hosted by Coach, the WNBA's official handbag partner. Players including Napheesa Collier, Paige Bueckers, Sonia Citron, and others arrived styled head-to-toe in Coach’s latest, highlighting a coordinated and polished league-wide fashion presence during the event.

A’ja Wilson and Angel Reese, who had memorable statement pieces during the weekend, were not left behind. A’ja Wilson wore a semi-translucent maroon dress by Dipetsa, which contrasted with her usual tomboy-inspired game day looks, while Angel Reese turned heads in a decadent leopard print coat by Mark Gong, paired with strappy black heels and sunglasses. Even the WNBA itself praised Reese's look.

Reese also paid homage to Michael Jordan by layering a graphic sweater over a collared shirt paired with a mini skirt, exemplifying the blend of homage and trendiness that defines much of the league’s off-court style.

The fashion showcase continued during the New York Liberty's Pride Night presented by Lyft, with players like Stefanie Dolson leaning into the no-pants Miu Miu trend of 2023 with an oversized, pinstriped cherry-red button-up. Lexie Hull of the Indiana Fever wore Athleta's Momentum Flex Ultra Crop Tank and Lunar Sheen Utility Pant, along with baby blue and white Nike low Dunks. Sydney Colson of the Indiana Fever wore an all-brown leather look, including oversized leather trousers and a cowboy jacket.

However, the week was not without its on-court scuffles. Despite these incidents, the fashionable displays by WNBA players have continued to captivate audiences, making a strong case for their status as influential style icons beyond the basketball court.

In the world of fashion and beauty, WNBA stars continue to make an impact both on and off the court. As the NBA tunnel fits become synonymous with the league's players, so does their influence in lifestyle, fashion, and entertainment. Paige Beuckers and Caitlin Clark, like their fellow players, have utilized their platform to showcase their unique fashion tastes, adding to the diverse range of styles seen during the 2023 WNBA season. The WNBA's fashion showcase extends beyond individual players, as partnerships with brands like Coach and sponsored events, such as the All-Star Weekend opening party, highlight the league's coordinated and fashionable presence in the entertainment and sports industry.
