Manchester City are reportedly on the brink of securing a high-profile transfer, with advanced negotiations underway for the acquisition of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Following a contract dispute at PSG, Donnarumma is said to be in talks with Manchester City, with both clubs having engaged in direct discussions over the past 48 hours. According to reports, Donnarumma has agreed to personal terms, setting the stage for a potential move to the Etihad Stadium.

PSG have placed a €50 million valuation on the goalkeeper, but as Donnarumma enters the final year of his deal, the asking price is expected to decrease as the September 1 transfer deadline approaches.

City manager Pep Guardiola has given his approval for the transfer, with Donnarumma set to replace Ederson, who is reportedly keen to move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

While there are some concerns about the suitability of Donnarumma for Guardiola’s style, City see it as a bargain opportunity given Donnarumma’s world-class profile and the possibility of a reduced transfer fee.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth have reportedly agreed a transfer deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Morocco forward Amine Adli.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund have walked away from talks for Wolves' Fabio Silva after the Premier League club raised their asking price for the 23-year-old striker. Southampton are holding firm in their attempt to keep Mateus Fernandes, one of their brightest prospects.

Adam Wharton, a 21-year-old England midfielder, has impressed in the Premier League, catching the eye of scouts at Real Madrid. However, no information about Real Madrid's interest in Wharton is currently available.

Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku is reportedly keen on a switch to Bayern Munich, with a potential deal still on the table before the transfer window closes. Southampton have rejected West Ham's opening bid for Fernandes, worth £30 million plus add-ons.

Liverpool have insisted that Ibrahima Konate is not for sale, despite their push to bring in two new centre-backs. No new information about Mateus Fernandes, Adam Wharton, or Marco Asensio is available at this time.

Leverkusen are now reportedly interested in Brighton's Argentine winger Facundo Buonanotte, valued at around £39 million.

Aston Villa are planning a return for Marco Asensio, who had a strong loan spell from PSG last season. Real Madrid continue to monitor Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton.

If the deal for Ederson progresses, it could pave the way for Donnarumma to join Manchester City. No information about Ederson's transfer situation is currently available.

In summary, Manchester City's goalkeeping future could see a significant shift if the transfer for Donnarumma is completed, potentially at a reduced fee. PSG, on the other hand, would offload a high-earner and reshape their goalkeeper options. The future implications of this transfer are significant for both clubs.
