Gee whiz! It's madness out there in the galaxy, far, far away with all these upcoming Star Wars goodies, huh? Now that Andor's second season's wrapped on Disney Plus, there's plenty more sci-fi glory to indulge in. Buckle up, mate! We're in for a wild ride!

First off, get ready for Din Djarin and baby Grogu's big screen adventure, aptly titled The Mandalorian & Grogu. The unexpected announcement was made online, and Favreau's ecstatic about it: "I've loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created, and the prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is exciting!" The movie is scheduled to drop on May 22, 2026. At D23 2024, we even got a sneak peek at some footage, revealing more of Zeb Orrelios, the return of the Razor Crest, and baby Yoda hanging with some Babu Friks (AKA Anzellan). Sigourney Weaver's already hopped on board in an unknown role.

Next up, we've got the Ryan Gosling-led Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy. Revealed as Star Wars: Starfighter at Celebration 2025, this one's shaping up nicely, with a 2027 release window. Levy's spoken about his privilege joining the franchise, and Kathleen Kennedy mentioned that it'll arrive after The Mandalorian & Grogu, setting it after The Rise of Skywalker. Excitingly, we also have our second cast member: Mia Goth's nabbed the villain role!

A new Rey movie's on the horizon, too, set after The Rise of Skywalker as Rey rebuilds the Jedi Order. Directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, it'll feature some plot twists, including potentially new characters, and the script's weeks away from completion. Let's hope we won't have to wait too long to find out more.

Simon Kinberg's trilogy is also in the works, though its release date remains a mystery. This is considered episodes 10-12 and will likely involve Rey in some capacity. If all goes well, we could get a glimpse of her in action before long.

Now, you might've heard whispers about a new Taika Waititi movie, but fear not – it's still happening. Set in the spirit of the original trilogy, this one's all about exploring new territory and creating unique characters. Their current aim is a "late 2023" release, but we'll see if that pans out.

Better make room on your watch list, 'cause we've got plenty more in store! Dave Filoni's live-action movie will take us on a cinematic event, uniting the Disney Plus shows so far into a space between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Ahsoka season 2 is more likely to drop before this film, though. Filoni's also teased the opening scene of the movie, so here's hoping it's a real stunner!

And hey, don't forget about Lando! Glover's beenichatting about the project, so maybe we'll see that tale come to life soon. We'll have to wait and see if Donald manages to capture the charm of young Lando.

In other news, Rian Johnson's planned trilogy might be on the back burner for now, but he's super busy with Knives Out sequels, so I s'pose we can't begrudge him that.

Finally, a sequel series to the popular animated Tales anthology series is on the horizon. Tales of the Underworld follows Asajj Ventress on the run with a new ally, while Cad Bane's forced to confront his past. This one'll premiere early on Fortnite, so get ready for an epic watch party island adventure!

That's all for now, folks! Keep your casques strapped on tight, and may the Force be with you!
