Latest Metal Musings: Must-listen Metal Tracks Announced Immediately

In the world of heavy metal, excitement is building as we approach October, with one artist in particular making headlines. Trivium has confirmed the release of their new EP, Struck Dead, on Halloween, October 31, 2025.

Produced by the band, recorded at Hangar Studios in Orlando with producer Mark Lewis, and mixed/mastered by Josh Wilbur, Struck Dead will feature three tracks, including the single "Bury Me With My Screams." The EP is a return to Trivium's roots, with the lead single indebted to their Ascendancy era material without sounding dated or like a rehash.

Trivium will be headlining Bloodstock Festival for the second time, a significant milestone 20 years after their legendary debut at Download Festival in the UK.

However, it seems that other heavy metal favourites are keeping their cards close to their chests. Despite extensive searches, no confirmed 2025 release dates or album announcements were found for Babymetal, Belphegor, AFI, Despised Icon, Battle Beast, Creeper, Frayle, Agenbite Misery, Pinkshift, Death Goals, Aviana, or Pinkshift.

There are, however, whispers of new music from some of these bands. Belphegor's new single Sanctus Diaboli Confidimus is the first taste of new material since 2022's The Devils. Battle Beast's new single Here We Are is said to be old school melodic metal in its purest form, featuring galloping guitars. Creeper's new release Sanguivore II: Mistress Of Death is set to be released on Halloween, and Blood Magick (It's A Ritual) is a 80s rock cheese track that employs brooding, Danzig-esque vocals.

Aviana's new single Evermore leans more towards the furious elements of metalcore, but still has a melodic sensibility. Death Goals' latest single Even A Worm Can Turn is noisy and belligerent, lasting under 90 seconds.

Intriguingly, Babymetal's new single My Queen features Spiritbox and is a thumping track that blends Babymetal's usual sense of anthemia to create something powerful and unique. AFI's new single Behind The Clock is from their eighth album, Silver Bleeds The Black Sun..., which is set to be released on October 3.

While we wait for more official announcements, fans of heavy metal will no doubt be eagerly anticipating Trivium's Struck Dead EP and keeping their eyes peeled for any further news from their favourite bands.
