Largest Tennis Event in Mainz Resumes
The much-anticipated Mainz Open tennis tournament is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary from August 15 to 17, 2025. The event will take place at the TSC Mainz courts located in Oberstadt (Ebersheimer Weg 23).
This prestigious tournament, recognised as one of the highlights of the German tennis year, attracts an international audience and is considered crucial for both players and spectators. Last year, approximately 2,500 spectators attended the three tournament days.
The 2025 edition promises to be an exciting affair, with the semi-finals and final to be live-streamed for the first time. The tournament features qualifying rounds, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final.
On Saturday evening, live music by Steplight, a surprise act from the Mainz carnival, and a performance by a fast tennis juggler are scheduled. The Mainz Open also collaborates with various charitable initiatives, including the "Coins to Beat Cancer" and information campaigns about organ donation.
Mayor Michael Ebling, Minister of the Interior and Sport in Rhineland-Palatinate, emphasises the international flair and importance of the event. In 2024, 17 players from the top 100 in Germany participated in the tournament.
For those interested in attending, admission on Friday is free. On Saturday and Sunday, admission is by voluntary donation (adults 8 euros, students and youth 4 euros). A "Tennis Triptych" of French Open appetizer, US Open grill, and German Open dessert will be offered.
