Large turnout at the Rosengarten run: 1259 competitors reached the finish line
Under the warm and welcoming sunshine of the Regionalpark Rosengarten, the 5th Rosengartenlauf and the 4th Rosengarten ULTRA Heide Marathon (RUHM) took place on Sunday, setting new records for participation and excitement. The events, organised by the Hausbruch-Neugrabener Turnerschaft (HNT), attracted a total of 2,811 runners, surpassing the previous records set in 2019.
The HNT expressed their pride in the high turnout, with 1,259 runners crossing the finish line for the main event, and 1,552 registrations for the Rosengartenlauf. The children's races were also part of the event, with the youngest participants being kids between three and five years old, who started and finished their race at Wildpark Schwarze Berge. Many young participants ran hand in hand with their parents, creating a heartwarming spectacle.
In the Rosengarten ULTRA Heide Marathon, Christian Diskowski, aged 37, from RSC Lueneburg Triathlon, claimed victory in the king's discipline, setting a new record time of 3:56:46 hours. Leonie de Jong from VfL Stade was the fastest woman, completing the marathon in 4:37:36 hours.
The HNT organising team, led by Kirsten Möhle, expressed their delight at the success of the event. "We are very proud to have been able to excite so many people again for the Rosengartenlauf," Möhle said. The cheering crowd was present at the finish line of the children's race, adding to the festive atmosphere.
