The Slaviansk district in the Krasnodar region of Russia has been under threat of drone attacks, leading to the cancellation of all mass events scheduled for August 9 and 10. This precautionary measure was announced by Roman Siniakovsky, the head of the Slaviansk district, via his Telegram channel.

Recent drone attacks have targeted key infrastructure, including oil refineries and military facilities, causing fires and minor damage. On August 13, a drone strike on the Slavyansk-on-Kuban oil refinery resulted in a small fire on a Gazelle van, but no casualties were reported. An earlier attack around August 6–7 targeted the Afipsky oil refinery and a military site near Slavyansk-na-Kubani, causing fires and reportedly injuring at least one person due to falling drone parts.

Local air defenses have been active, successfully intercepting numerous Ukrainian drones, thereby minimizing damage. Emergency services have been prompt in extinguishing fires and deploying air defenses during attacks. Regional governors and local officials have been reporting drone incidents, injuries, and ongoing protective measures, including public warnings against filming sensitive areas during strikes.

Commissions from the administration are currently assessing the damage to residents' property, with 10 addresses being inspected and documented. Specialists from Rosgvardia are at the crash sites, and all drones involved in the attacks have been destroyed.

The threat of drone attacks is not new to the region, with debris found in six municipalities in the Krasnodar region on August 8: Temryuk, Abinsky, Krymsky, Belorechensky districts, Sochi, and Anapa.

In light of the current security situation, support will be provided to those affected by the drone attacks. The cancellation of public events, including "Big Family Weekends" and sporting events, is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the residents.

Previously, guidelines on what to do in case of a drone attack were reported by "Kuban News", advising not to remove drones and to avoid interfering with the air defense system. Residents are urged to stay alert and calm, following the advice of local authorities.
