The Vanemuine Theatre in Tartu, Estonia, is preparing for an exciting opening to its 156th season. On August 23, 2023, the theatre will host an opening festival, culminating in a gala concert at 7 p.m. This concert will showcase highlights from the works of Swedish musical director Georg Malvius[1][2].

Before the official theatre season opening, the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra held its 15th consecutive summer concert on July 27, 2023, in Kassitoome Valley, Tartu. This concert, separate from the opening festival events, was attended by thousands and featured multiple soloists and Risto Joost as the conductor[1][3].

A recording of the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra's summer concert will be broadcast on ETV on August 2 at 10:20 p.m., giving those who missed the live performance a chance to enjoy the music[7].
