On June 16, during a broadcast featuring Yakutia's leader, Aisen Nikolaev, on GTRK 'Saha', a resident from Suntarsky District brought up the topic of funding for bonuses to large families that are legally entitled to receive land plots. Aisen Nikolaev acknowledged this as a long-standing, unresolved issue.

Large Family Land Payments Inquiry Answered by Yakutia Authority

On June 16th, during a live broadcast on GTRK "Sakha" channel, Aisen Nikolaev, the head of Yakutia, faced a query from a resident of the Suntarsky District about the timeline for receiving cash payments as compensation for land plots, which should be provided by law to large families.

Nikolaev acknowledged the issue as complex and long-standing, but revealed that the government has been transitioning to cash payments instead. As of January 1, 2025, the new amount stands at 300,000 rubles, an increase of 1.5 times compared to the previous year.

He further explained that the initial budget allocation for the cash payments has been exhausted, and the government is working to secure additional funds to address the accumulated applications as swiftly as possible. However, the land plots themselves are in the process of being provided.

The main challenges lie in the infrastructure needed for the land plots, particularly in rural settlements and district centers, where the issue is being tackled albeit slowly. The urban landscape of Yakutsk, home to numerous large families and applications, is experiencing delays due to a scarcity of free land plots and high utility installation costs.

Despite the obstacles, Nikolaev expressed confidence in the current cash compensation system, developed in collaboration with the republic's prosecutor's office, which is gaining traction among several thousand residents. He emphasized the importance of ensuring these residents receive as much of the compensation as possible.

Policy-and-legislation concerning large families' land plot compensation is a topic of ongoing politics in Yakutia. The government's transition to cash payments for these compensation is encountering challenges, particularly in urban settlements like Yakutsk, where the scarcity of free land plots and high utility installation costs are causing delays. General-news outlets continue to monitor the situation, as Nikolaev, the head of Yakutia, emphasizes the importance of ensuring as much compensation as possible reaches the residents.
