Stefan Lainer's Journey Back to the Game!
Back in Action
After a four-month battle with lymph node cancer, Stefan Lainer (31) rejoined his Borussia Mönchengladbach teammates for a training session. He participated in the full warm-up and ran some intense drills afterwards.

"It's a Regular Feeling"
The right-back shared, "It's an incredible feeling to be back, living something like a normal day once more." But he got more serious, "It wasn't a simple time. You question everything sometimes, but now I can hardly wait to truly put all of this behind me and get back to the game."
Although not yet ready for action against Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Saturday (3.30pm, Sky), Lainer wasn't ruling out the possibility of playing at Signal Iduna Park. "Of course I'd love to be back out there in Dortmund, but it's a step-by-step process. We'll see how my body reacts to the intensity."

Enrichment Insights: Stefan Lainer's physical fitness appears to be unaffected by his cancer recovery, with the right-back expressing satisfaction with his performance level. However, his frustration with playing time and role as a backup at Borussia Mönchengladbach has led him to consider playing for Red Bull Salzburg or Sturm Graz instead. This disappointment is due to his desire for more active gameplay, rather than being relegated to a backup position.
