Hear ye, hear ye! 📣

Pascal Vincent, the mastermind behind the Laval Rocket's meteoric rise, has been bestowed with a well-deserved accolade! The Rocket's coach, now a proud recipient of the Louis A. R. Pieri Award, is celebrated as the AHL's top coach of the year.

Jean-Philippe Arcand, our go-to hockey source spills the beans on this well-earned honor. This prestigious award, voted on by fellow AHL coaches and journalists representing all 32 of the league's cities, recognizes Vincent's exceptional leadership and tactical prowess.

Fast forward to the 2024-2025 season, and Vincent steered the Rocket to a staggering 48 wins, 19 losses, just 3 regulation defeats, and 2 overtime losses - raking in a total of 101 points. Not only does this mark a colossal 27-point improvement over the previous season, but it also secures the second-best point percentage (0.701) for a Montreal farm team in AHL history.

Vincent's impressive network in the hockey world stretches far and wide. He previously scooped up this award in 2017-2018 while coaching the Manitoba Moose, making him the sixth coach to win it twice – the first to do so with two different teams.

At 53 years young, Vincent took the helm of the Rocket in July 2024 after a season with the Columbus Blue Jackets in the big leagues, the NHL. Born and bred in Laval, Vincent also spent a decade with the Winnipeg Jets organization, with five years as a swashbuckling assistant coach and five as the fearless commander of the Manitoba Moose.

In the junior leagues, Vincent has had an illustrious career, coaching the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (1999-2008) and the Montreal Junior in the QMJHL (2008-2011). With this formidable experience, it's no wonder he's leading the charge to hockey greatness!
