Lady Gaga's 'Mayhem' Extends Record on Top Dance Albums Chart

Lady Gaga's latest album, 'Mayhem', is continuing to dominate the dance music scene, spending an impressive 20 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Dance Albums chart as of August 11, 2025. This extends her record as the artist with the third-longest-running No. 1 on the dance albums tally, surpassing her own previous record set by 'Born This Way' with 19 weeks at the top.

'Mayhem' is not just a success due to the new material. Fans are also revisiting Gaga's earlier work, such as her debut album, 'The Fame', which has moved up to No. 2 on the Top Dance Albums chart. The success of 'The Fame' can be partly attributed to the attention Gaga is receiving with her current project and her Mayhem Ball Tour.

'Mayhem' features a mix of dark dance tunes like "Disease" and "Abracadabra", as well as a vintage pop-rock collaboration with Bruno Mars titled "Die with a Smile". However, the album has slipped on the Billboard 200 and the Top Streaming Albums list, which may indicate a shift in listener preferences or a focus on other aspects of Lady Gaga's career.

Despite this, Lady Gaga controls the top two positions on the ranking of the most consumed dance albums in the U.S. with 'The Fame' at No. 2 and 'Mayhem' at No. 1. This is not the first time Gaga has multiple wins on the Top Dance Albums chart, particularly during a new promotional era.

With more than 15 years as one of the defining figures in dance-pop, Lady Gaga continues to demonstrate her affinity for dance music in her latest release, 'Mayhem'. The album has now spent a total of 21 weeks on the Top Dance Albums chart.

Entertaining music from Lady Gaga's 'Mayhem' album dominates the dance charts, with the title track spending 20 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Dance Albums chart in 2025. This continued success follows the chart-topping run of her debut album, 'The Fame', which climbed to No. 2 on the same chart during this period.
