Labour Leader Alleges Julius Abure's Power Grab Amid Controversy

He pointed out that this move was premeditated following Governor Otti's and other leaders' roles in liberating the Labor Party from Abure and his cronies.
"This did not come as a shock. This action was pre-planned following Governor Otti and other leaders' roles in retrieving the Labor Party from Abure and his political accomplices," Uzoukwa added.
Furthermore, Uzoukwa criticized Abure's attempts to undermine the party's leadership and branded the shenanigans surrounding Governor Otti's suspension as desperate attempts to cling to power. Uzoukwa described Abure's tenure as chaotic, contentious, and damaging to the party's internal structure.
"Abure's desperation is staggering, and his latest move has further exposed his fragile grasp on reality," Uzoukwa said, referring to Abure's attempts to reassert his authority as "inept" and a stark reflection of his dwindling power.
He also called into question Abure's continued self-proclamation as the national chairman despite the Supreme Court ruling.
"It's baffling that such a lawyer as Julius Abure continues to parade himself as National Chairman, issuing statements that are a slap in the face to democracy and a mockery of the judiciary," Uzoukwa remarked.
Uzoukwa commended the Senator Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee's efforts toward holding Abure accountable and repositioning the party.
"The Senator Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee deserves recognition for its relentless efforts to rebuild and redefine the Labor Party at every level, making it a force to be reckoned with at the grassroots," Uzoukwa said, emphasizing that Usman's leadership has brought new hope and purpose to the party.
He went on to call for Abure's arrest by the Inspector General of Police for impersonation and demanded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enforce the Supreme Court judgment to preserve the integrity of democracy.
"We expect the Inspector General of Police to arrest Abure for impersonation and INEC to implement the Supreme Court judgment," Uzoukwa concluded.
