L.A. Fire Under Control
In the aftermath of the Canyon Fire near Los Angeles, which currently stands at 47% containment, authorities have given the all-clear for residents in the affected area to return to their homes. - Weather Monitoring: Fire planning uses detailed weather data and GIS mapping to target resources toward communities at risk and manage prescribed burns safely.
As temperatures of around 36 degrees Celsius are expected on Sunday, the U.S. weather service has issued a warning against anything that could cause sparks due to the high risk of fires. Damage assessment teams have inspected most of the nearly 22 square kilometers of burned area, with two homes and five uninhabited buildings confirmed as destroyed.
Despite the ongoing efforts to control the Canyon Fire, the risk of fires remains high in the region.
