Kyiv firmly resists surrendering Ukrainian territory; Kyiv's involvement essential in any discussions.

In Buenos Aires on Nov. 30, 2018, U.S. President Donald Trump and Russia's President Vladimir Putin were present at the G20 Leaders' Summit. Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, a Ukrainian National Guard serviceman was participating in a training not far from the frontline on Pokrovsk direction on Aug. 8, 2018.

The training, captured by AP/YONHAP, showed the serviceman jumping from an armoured car and running through a tree line. Another photograph, taken by AFP/YONHAP, depicted the same serviceman belonging to the 3rd brigade during a family photo session at the G20 Leaders' Summit.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine's current President, has been firm in his stance against formally ceding any Ukrainian territory to occupying forces. He insists that Ukraine's territorial integrity is non-negotiable, and any peace negotiations must include Kyiv's participation to be legitimate and effective.

Zelenskyy has stated explicitly that Ukraine "will not give Russia any awards for what it has done" and that "Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier." Even as discussions on possible peace deals involving territorial swaps arise, Ukrainian officials and Zelenskyy reject such ideas, viewing territory concessions as unacceptable.

Zelenskyy has also criticized peace talks that exclude Ukraine, calling them “dead solutions” that will not bring lasting peace. He emphasises that Kyiv must be at the negotiation table for any resolution to be valid. Although some Ukrainian officials privately acknowledge the military difficulty of regaining lost lands, Zelenskyy publicly maintains a position demanding the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial sovereignty without compromise.

These events serve as a reminder of the ongoing conflict and the unwavering resolve of Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to protect his country's territorial integrity.

  1. The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and occupying forces indicates a need for diplomatic efforts to establish a lasting peace, with Zelenskyy's unwavering stance on Ukraine's territorial integrity being a crucial aspect of international politics and war-and-conflicts.
  2. Despite intense military pressure, Zelenskyy has publicly deemed any territorial concessions as unacceptable, potentially affecting the negotiations concerning defense and peace deals within the context of the international community.
  3.
