Monday saw a heartfelt show of support as ambassadors and locals paid a visit to the Iranian Embassy in Kuwait, following the dreadful explosion at Bandar Abbas Port in Iran. The blast took the lives of numerous individuals and left hundreds injured.

In a gesture of empathy, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, Ambassador Sameeh Hayat, penned a message in the embassy's condolence book on behalf of Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, Deputy Foreign Minister Sheikh Jareh Al-Jaber, and the entire Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff. The heartfelt message read:

"Deepest condolences and solidarity are sent to the Islamic Republic of Iran - its government and people - following the tragic incident at Bandar Abbas Port. We extend our prayers for the swift recovery of the injured and for the continued safety of the Islamic Republic."

Iran's Ambassador to Kuwait, Mohammad Totonji, expressed profound sadness over the "devastating catastrophe" that claimed the lives of numerous technicians and workers. The investigation into the cause of the explosion is still ongoing, with early signs pointing towards safety protocol lapses.

Ambassador Totonji acknowledged receipt of heartfelt condolences from His Highness the Amir, the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other prominent figures. While discussing the progress of the indirect talks between Iran and the United States, Totonji highlighted the positive trajectory of the negotiations. The third round of discussions was recently held in Muscat under Omani mediation, with the primary focus being on Iran's nuclear program and the removal of sanctions. He reiterated Iran's adherence to international agreements and its commitment to maintaining peaceful activities.

Additional diplomats also offered condolences, including the Palestinian Ambassador Rami Tahboub, Iraqi Ambassador Al-Manhal Al-Safi, and the Lebanese Charge d'Affaires Ahmad Arfa, who all expressed their condolences.

Russian Ambassador Vladimir Zheltov, too, extended his sincere condolences, noting the strong and strategic nature of Russian-Iranian relations. Italy's Ambassador Lorenzo Morini also offered his condolences, stating he shared the distress of the victims' families, who were fulfilling their duties diligently.
