Kuwait ensures power and water stability during Eid Al-Fitr holiday
Kuwait's Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, visited key power and desalination plants over the weekend. The inspection came during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, as the ministry maintains its highest state of preparedness amid regional challenges.
On Saturday, the minister toured the Doha East and West power stations, along with their linked water desalination facilities. His visit aimed to assess operational readiness and ensure uninterrupted services during the holiday period.
Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem stressed that the ministry is closely monitoring all sectors in line with pre-set plans. He reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining constant electricity and water supplies, particularly during peak demand times. The inspection follows broader concerns over water security in the Gulf region. While Qatar operates over 400 desalination plants along its coastline to combat extreme water stress, Kuwait's own infrastructure remains under close watch.
