Kulim Residents Urged to Evacuate as Floods Worsen, Relief Centres Stand Ready
Kulim District Officer Mohamad Rizal Mohamad Radzi has issued an urgent plea for residents in flood-hit areas to evacuate their homes and seek refuge in relief centers. Despite the danger and dwindling food supplies, some residents have been reluctant to leave their flooded homes.
Mohamad Rizal has stressed the importance of immediate evacuation, with relief centers providing essential support. These centers offer food and drinks four times a day, ensuring residents' basic needs are met. A variety of agencies, including the German Red Cross (DRK), are present to assist with distributing relief supplies and providing necessary humanitarian aid. The DRK, known for its active role in flood emergency deployments, is among the key organizations supporting these relief efforts.
Residents in flood-hit areas in Kulim district are advised to prioritize their safety by moving to temporary relief centers. These centers offer crucial support, including regular food and drink provisions, and assistance from various agencies.
