Kuban's alert has been withdrawn

In the heart of Russia's Kuban region, a small village is making headlines for an unusual reason. This quaint settlement, known for its charming fountains and Boney M concerts, is the native home of a Moscow businessman who is determined to revive it from the brink of "death."

Meanwhile, the region has recently been in the spotlight for a different reason. On the night of August 18, an alert was issued by the local emergency service, the RSChS, warning of a potential drone threat. However, no drone attack occurred in the Kuban region on this day. The alert advised residents and guests to take shelter in windowless buildings and avoid going out into open areas. The drone danger signal was canceled early in the morning of August 18, and no further details about the cancellation were provided.

The drone threat in the Kuban region on August 18 was part of a broader pattern of Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian military and energy infrastructure that had been ongoing throughout the month. On August 7, a Russian military unit in Slavyansk-on-Kuban was targeted, resulting in a fire and structural damage. One civilian was injured from falling drone debris and minor fires were reported in the Krasnoarmeysky district. The resolution of the threat involved local emergency response to extinguish fires, treat the injured, and cancel drone danger alerts once the immediate danger subsided.

Despite this incident, there is currently no threat to the Kuban region. Back in the village, the businessman continues his efforts to revive his native home, hoping to preserve its unique charm for future generations.
