Kuakata’s Winter Relief Effort Delivers 700 Blankets to Vulnerable Communities
Around 700 blankets were handed out to vulnerable communities in Kuakata on Sunday evening. The distribution took place at eight key locations. The blankets were delivered at approximately 10:00 PM on Sunday. Officials, including Kalapara upazila nirbahi officer Kausar Hamid, assistant commissioner (land) Yasin Sadek, and CPP assistant director Asaduzzaman, attended the event. Around 100 Rakhine men and women directly received blankets in their villages. Kausar Hamid later spoke about the government’s role in aiding those affected by the cold. He highlighted that marginalised and minority groups often face the harshest conditions in winter. The programme, he confirmed, would continue throughout the season to provide further relief. Members of the Rakhine community expressed their thanks for the timely assistance. They acknowledged the administration’s efforts in delivering much-needed warmth during the cold spell. The winter relief initiative will remain active for the coming weeks. Authorities have stressed the importance of supporting those most affected by low temperatures. Further distributions are expected as part of the ongoing assistance programme.
