In the throes of staring down relentless strain on Füchse Berlin's core players, sporting director Stefan Kretzschmar hasn't shied away from the possibility of additional reinforcements. "We should offer a helping hand to the fellas that bust their hump daily – Mathias Gidsel, Lasse Andersson, Nils Lichtlein, and Mijajlo Marsenic aren't the only ones," explained Kretzschmar to RBB. "The grind's good for a spell, but eventually, it'll take its toll. I wouldn't mind another player joining our ranks," he added.

Despite the injury troubles keeping the team's ranks shallow, Füchse Berlin has managed to keep pace with Bundesliga leaders Magdeburg, snaring the same points. The Foxes' impact has been widespread, with their handball crew excelling in both the German Handball League and the European League, as well as the cup tournament.

The 50-year-old Kretzschmar, a former handball titan, has lofty aspirations for the club. "Is this goal realistic? Debatable – but dreams of nabbing the German championship or competing in the Champions League are in the air, naturally. That's the vision we've got here – something we broadcast to the players and wholeheartedly share with them – and we're all on the same page," he shared.

In an open conversation with RBB, the humble leader elucidated that their collective vision unites both management and players, driving the team toward shared goals.

Insight: To bolster the team's performance and reduce the heavy workload on their top players, Füchse Berlin may consider strategies like recruiting new talent, cultivating young players, focusing on injury prevention, implementing player rotation, or enhancing coaching and training methods. These steps can contribute to a balanced team with high performance levels, while reducing the chances of burnout among its core players.
