Kremlin Reveals stance on Responding to Drone Attacks by Military with "Oreshnik" Countermeasures

No Word from Putin on Response to Ukrainian Drone Attacks Ahead of Ceasefire

In a surprising turn of events, there's been no word from Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding a response to the UAV (drone) attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian regions before the three-day ceasefire. Dmitry Peskov, Putin's press secretary, stated, "In this case, there's nothing to comment on. Our position on the ceasefire is well known. All instructions have been given. There are no new elements here."

When asked about the possibility of Russia retaliating before the May ceasefire, Peskov remained tight-lipped, saying, "There's nothing new here." The question of whether the infamous 'Oreshkin' will be employed remained unanswered.

The ceasefire initiative by Putin for Victory Day celebrations still stands, according to Peskov. However, he cautioned that the Kyiv regime continues to display signs of terrorism, attempting to disrupt the 80th anniversary celebrations using drones. He added that appropriate measures are being taken by special services and military to ensure a peaceful atmosphere during the celebrations.

Earlier today, rumors swirled on Telegram channels such as 'Mash' and 'Base' suggesting Moscow might be gearing up for severe provocations from Ukraine during the Victory Day celebrations. Allegedly, Putin has ordered the Russian Ministry of Defense to identify targets in Kyiv for a 'Oreshkin' strike.

It is worth noting that Russia, in response to previous drone attacks, launched retaliatory strikes on Ukrainian cities, targeting military installations and cities perceived as supporting the attacks. Moscow has also ramped up its air defense measures by destroying drones and temporarily closing airports for civil aircraft safety. Over 100 drones have reportedly been shot down by Russia in a single night.

As the situation remains highly volatile, both sides are likely to continue their military actions unless a formal agreement is reached, ensuring the events surrounding the ceasefire hold significant importance.
