Kremlin Makes Significant Statement Regarding Possible Meeting Between Putin and Trump

In an interview with Pavlo Zarubin of Russia 1, as reported by RIA Novosti, a Kremlin representative commented that the leaders understand the need for their meeting and indeed have the intention to hold one.

"Both understand that the meeting should be prepared meticulously," Peсков summarized. "First, there needs to be some expert-level groundwork done. Then, the time for that meeting will come."

Previously, President Putin's assistant Yuri Ushakov also mentioned the potential meeting between Putin and Trump, stating that it must be carefully planned. As of now, no specific agreements about the meeting have been made, and it's uncertain if it will take place in 2025.

Ushakov added, "Regardless, the leaders of the two countries hold telephone conversations, and that alone is significant. Such communications already provide certain results, for example, some agreements that are currently being implemented and will continue to be in the future."

Informally, both leaders have shown openness to each other and have expressed a desire for increased cooperation. Ongoing dialogue, particularly through telephone conversations, has led to some agreements on critical global issues such as the Middle East and Ukraine. As of late June 2025, while there have been meetings at international summits, no formal summit or specifically planned meeting between Putin and Trump has been publicly announced.

In essence, while the leaders are interested in a meeting, no official date or detailed arrangements have been confirmed as of yet. Keep an eye out for updates on this potential diplomatic encounter!
