Krasnodar's goalkeeper Agkatsov sets a record for the second-most "shut-out" matches in the RPL during the 21st century.
Stanislav Agkaцев, a 23-year-old goalkeeper from Krasnodar, has been making waves in the Russian Premier League (RPL) with his exceptional performance in the past season. Agkaцев, a graduate of the Krasnodar academy, has been a key player for the team, earning him the title of the best goalkeeper of the season at the Winline "Heroes of the RPL" awards.
Agkaцев played 34 matches in all tournaments last season, managing to keep 17 clean sheets. In the league games alone, he did not concede a goal in 21 matches, showcasing his impressive form and consistency. This impressive run has earned him the second-best clean sheet record in the RPL in the 21st century, with a 49% clean sheet record.
Agkaцев's contract with Krasnodar extends until the end of June 2029, and Transfermarkt values him at 7.5 million euros. The young goalkeeper was also voted the best player of Krasnodar by fans in the past season, joining the trio of best players that included forward John Cordoba and midfielder Eduard Spertsyan.
While Agkaцев's record is impressive, he is not the only outstanding goalkeeper in the RPL. Igor Akinfeev of CSKA Moscow holds the third-place spot for clean sheet records in the RPL, with a 43% record. Yuri Lodygin follows closely behind with a 41% clean sheet record. Sergei Ovchinikov holds the top spot, with a 50% clean sheet record.
The top four goalkeepers with the best clean sheet percentages in the RPL in the 21st century are generally regarded as:
- Igor Akinfeev - Club: CSKA Moscow - Clean sheet percentage: Around 42-45% - Record: Over 200 clean sheets in more than 480 league matches
- Vyacheslav Malafeev - Club: Zenit St. Petersburg - Clean sheet percentage: Approximately 40-43% - Record: Roughly 100+ clean sheets in 300+ matches
- Sergey Ryzhikov - Clubs: Rubin Kazan, others - Clean sheet percentage: Around 38-42% - Record: Close to 80-90 clean sheets in 250-300 matches
- Maxim Karpov or Andrey Lunev - Clean sheet percentage: About 37-40% - Record: Varies between 60-80 clean sheets depending on matches played
These figures are based on the aggregation of RPL match data from 2000 onwards. Agkaцев's impressive performance has earned him a place among these top goalkeepers, and he is sure to continue making a name for himself in the future.
Football, much like sports, is a realm where impressive records are made and broken. Agkaцев's 49% clean sheet record in the Russian Premier League (RPL) positions him among the top goalkeepers of this century, following figures such as Igor Akinfeev, Vyacheslav Malafeev, and Sergey Ryzhikov.
