Krasnodar's chemical industry surges with 7% growth in 2025 shipments

A recent meeting on the chemical industry and bioeconomy has highlighted the rapid growth of Krasnodar Region's chemical sector. Officials discussed state support, technological advancements, and cross-industry partnerships to drive further expansion. The region now accounts for over 16% of total output in supervised industrial sectors.

The session, chaired by Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov, took place in Omsk. Key topics included labour shortages, innovation, and the push for self-sufficiency in synthetic fibre production.

In 2025, Krasnodar's chemical industry saw shipments rise by nearly 7% compared to 2024, reaching 102.5 billion rubles. Over 150 enterprises contribute to this growth, benefiting from state-backed preferential loans and subsidies under regional programmes. Dmitry Khmelko, head of Krasnodar's Ministry of Industry, outlined these figures during the meeting.

Participants stressed the need to address labour shortages and adopt advanced technologies. Alikhanov highlighted microfluidic innovations as vital for small- and medium-scale production, ensuring technological leadership. The meeting also underscored the importance of collaboration between chemical and textile industries for sustainable development. A foundation for domestic synthetic fibre production has been established, aiming to eliminate dependence on foreign raw materials.
