Krasnodar's 11 fountains return to life after winter shutdown
Krasnodar's public fountains are being prepared for the 2024 season after months of inactivity. Work is now underway to clean, repair, and restore 11 municipal fountains across the city. Specialists have already completed repairs on several key locations, with more set to follow in the coming days.
The first phase of restoration has seen the Streaming Fountain, the fountain outside the regional Legislative Assembly, the one near the Alexandrovskaya Arch, and the Central Fountain fully reassembled. Teams are now focusing on removing winter netting from some sites while clearing debris from others. Calcium deposits, moss, and algae are being scrubbed away to restore the fountains' appearance.
Next in line for repairs are the fountains on Platonov Boulevard, the Starry Fountain, the Compass Rose, and the one in Festival Square. Each fountain demands a tailored approach, with technicians cleaning basins, installing new nozzles, and fitting underwater lighting. Electrical and hydraulic systems are also undergoing thorough inspections to ensure smooth operation. The entire process depends on weather conditions, but officials confirm all fountains should be running by the May holidays. No details have been released about any remaining fountains still under restoration.
Once all 11 fountains are operational, residents and visitors will see them fully restored for the first time this year. The work includes both cosmetic cleaning and technical upgrades to keep the systems functioning reliably. City authorities have not provided further updates on any additional fountains that may still require attention.
