Krasnodar Launches Ambitious Plan to Revitalize Playgrounds and Green Spaces
Krasnodar is set to upgrade its green spaces and playgrounds under a new city initiative. Mayor Yevgeny Naumov announced plans to improve play areas, sports facilities, and outdoor workout zones for residents. The project aims to address long-standing requests for better recreational spaces.
The city council and mayor's office have identified 109 locations currently without playgrounds. These spots will now receive new, standardised play equipment. The designs for play areas, sports zones, and fitness spaces have already been finalised.
To speed up construction and cut costs, officials have approved standardised playground models. Work based on these plans will start in 2023. By 2026, at least 600 pieces of playground equipment will be renovated or replaced. Property management companies will also play a role in maintaining the new facilities. The initiative ensures that developers follow the same requirements for future projects. Resident feedback, particularly about repairs to existing playgrounds and sports areas, is being addressed as part of the rollout.
The project will expand access to safe, modern play spaces across Krasnodar. With construction beginning next year, the city expects to complete most upgrades by 2026. The standardised designs and maintenance plans aim to keep costs manageable while improving public amenities.
