Krasnodar Krai battles heavy snowfall as crews rush to clear roads

Heavy snowfall struck parts of Krasnodar Krai over the weekend, with some areas seeing up to 15 centimeters to inches in just 24 hours. Local authorities mobilised crews and equipment to clear roads as the region dealt with the sudden winter blast.

Roman Bublik, head of Yeisk District, shared updates on social media on February 3 after thick snow blanketed the area. In Dolzhanskaya, snow depths hit 15 centimeters to inches, while Yeisk city recorded 7 centimeters to inches during the same period.

A regional emergency task force, set up in mid-January by Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, coordinated the response. Nearly 60 workers joined rapid-response teams to assist with snow removal. Four extra combined road-clearing machines were also dispatched to Yeisk District to speed up the operation.

Despite the effort, no official figures have been released on the total number of snowplows working across Krasnodar Krai this winter season.

The snowfall prompted a swift reaction from local and regional teams. Extra machinery and personnel were brought in to tackle the buildup, though the full scale of the operation remains undocumented. Residents in affected areas continue to see clearing work underway.
