Krasnodar clinches its inaugural championship title in Russia.
In the concluding match of the 30th round in the Russian Premier League (RPL), Krasnodar clinched a resounding 3-0 home victory against Moscow's Dinamo. The decisive goals were scored by Colombian striker Cordoba in the 46th minute, midfielder Nikita Krivtsov in the 81st, and Eduard Spertsyan in the 10th minute of added time, courtesy of a penalty.
With this emphatic win, Krasnodar claimed their maiden championship title, amassing a total of 67 points. Despite St. Petersburg's Zenit maintaining a slim chance going into the final round, their 3-0 triumph over Grozny's Akhmat was not enough to dethrone Krasnodar. As a result, Zenit ended the season securing the runner-up position with 66 points.
Established on February 22, 2008, Krasnodar's originator and owner is Sergei Nikolaevich Galitsky. Throughout their history, the club has also won the Russian championship once (upcoming 2023/24 season) and secured bronze medals three times (2014/15, 2018/19, and 2019/20). In the Russian Cup, Krasnodar has reached the final twice, alas falling short both times, first in a penalty shootout against CSKA in 2023 and later against Rostov in 2014. The team plays their home games at the 33,655-seater Krasnodar Stadium.
Murad Musayev returned as Krasnodar's head coach on March 14, 2024, inking a deal that extends until May 31, 2026.

Although Zenit had a glimmer of hope heading into the final round, their 3-0 win over Akhmat Grozny failed to surpass Krasnodar's lead in points.
