Krasnodar Airport Operating Normally
Krasnodar Airport faced disruptions earlier today as thick fog rolled in, causing delays and diversions. Over 10 flights were held up, and at least one incoming service was rerouted to a nearby airport. Normal operations have since resumed after restrictions were lifted.
The issues began in the early hours when dense fog reduced visibility across the region. An Aeroflot flight travelling from Krasnoyarsk to Krasnodar was diverted to Sochi due to the poor conditions. Meanwhile, several departures from Krasnodar were pushed back, partly because incoming aircraft arrived late.
Flight activity at the airport is usually limited to five takeoffs or landings per hour between 09:00 and 19:00. Since September 17, the airport has handled 376,000 domestic passengers and 129,000 international travellers. A Red Wings service from Sharm El Sheikh, originally due today, has now been rescheduled for tomorrow at 09:20 local time. Uzbekistan Airways still plans to operate a flight from Sharm El Sheikh to Krasnodar on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
By midday, conditions improved enough for authorities to lift restrictions. All diverted flights returned to Krasnodar, and operations gradually returned to normal.
The airport has now cleared its backlog of delayed services. Passengers affected by the rescheduled Red Wings flight will depart on Saturday morning instead. No further weather-related disruptions are currently expected.
