Kozhevnikov expresses views on plans to release Tkachev and Bush from the Omsk "Avangard"team
Feisty Hockey Insider Alexander Kozyrev weighs in on the rumors about star forwards Vladimir Tkachev and Rid Bushe potentially departing from Omsk Avangard:
Kozyrev, an experienced hockey analyst, points out that the criticism directed at team owner Sergei Sopin for the potential departure of these valuable players is misguided, as it's not Sopin's call.
*"Sopin's a hostage to the situation. Barin (Bushe's father - edit.), heading back to Canada, called the shots, dictating who he wants and who he can cut. It's only the 'cream of the crop' that interests Barin, not the 'deep ends' who are, by the way, currently playing in the Harlamov Cup."
Kozyrev expresses surprise at the possibility of Omsk dropping Tkachev and replacing him with less seasoned players. "I was taken aback that Omsk could let go of Tkachev for 'speed merchants'. But the antics of the puppeteers seldom adhere to logic."
He added, "It's ironic that their rivals from 'Sibir' find themselves in an unfavorable position, with Bushe being capricious and fine-tuning their roster from Canada, while Epanchinov is dreaming about bolstering his roster, not losing his leaders." - reports Russia-Hockey.
Rumors have been circulating recently about Bushe and Tkachev joining Yekaterinburg's Avtovaz. Omsk officials revealed that contract talks with Bushe have stalled, while Tkachev's contract runs until the end of the 2029-30 season.
Previously, Kozyrev also openly criticized Bushe's departure to Canada when Omsk's youth team, the "Omskiye Yastruby", contended for the Harlamov Cup.
