Kovernino’s artificial ice rink remains closed due to thawing and damage

An inspection has revealed that the artificial ice rink at 28B Shkolnaya Street in Kovernino is non-operational, with a thawed ice surface and visible damage. The rink, commissioned on July 20, 2022, is currently undergoing work by the contracting organization under its warranty obligations.

The rink's condition was assessed as part of a report by Russia’s Accounts Chamber on sports infrastructure spending between 2023 and 2025. Despite being a localized municipal matter, the non-operational state of the rink has raised concerns. The work aims to restore the rink to its intended use, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of its users. The specific contract for the renovation is not widely available in public knowledge sources.

The artificial ice rink at 28B Shkolnaya Street in Kovernino is expected to be operational again following the completion of work. The contracting organization is addressing the issues under its warranty obligations, with the aim of ensuring the rink's safety and functionality.
