All persons on board any boat in Idaho must have a properly fitting, Coast Guard approved life jacket readily accessible. For boats 16 feet or longer, a Type IV throwable flotation device (like a ring buoy or cushion) is also required to be on board. Operators of personal watercraft must be at least 16 years old, and all riders must wear life jackets.
