In the heart of Northern Minnesota, the Koochiching County 4-H Horse Show took place on July 11 at the Northern Minnesota District Fair, drawing a total of 10 riders from the senior, junior, and novice age levels. Among the participants were Mary R. (Littlefork) on Tink, who clinched the title of Games - Senior High Point Grand Champion, and Kallee Mae M. (Ray) on Hustlers Yellow Rose, who was crowned the Performance - Novice High Point winner.

The show was a spectacle of equestrian skills, with each rider showcasing their talents in various events. For each event class, the judge assigned a ribbon placing to each rider, and blue ribbon rankings translated into points.

In the Games - Junior category, Liv W. (International Falls) on Penny took the Reserve Champion title, just missing out on the High Point award. Meanwhile, Aaron R. (Littlefork) on Josie and Cody R. (Ray) on Davis excelled in their respective classes, earning the Games - Novice High Point and Performance - Senior High Point titles, respectively.

Additionally, Alayna C. (International Falls) on Stormy, Josey M. (International Falls) on Mickey, Lyndi R. (Littlefork) on Doll, Andrew R.l (Littlefork) on Mick, Sylvia V. (International Falls) on Payday, and Maci Z. (International Falls) on Chance also participated in the show, adding to the competitive atmosphere.

The show served as a qualifying event for the Minnesota 4-H State Horse Show, which will take place from September 5-9. Mary R. and Liv W. were among those who advanced, eager to represent Koochiching County on a larger stage.
